Learn how to set up your account, navigate the platform, and begin your compliance journey.

Welcome to Imara

Imara is a continuous compliance platform that automates evidence collection, monitors security controls, and streamlines the process of achieving certifications such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, LGPD, and CCPA. Rather than treating compliance as a one-time project, Imara turns it into a continuous, auditable program.

Setting Up Your Account

After receiving your email invitation, click the link to create your account. You will be directed to the authentication flow, where you can set your password or use SSO if your organization has configured that option. If your company uses a corporate identity provider (such as Okta, Azure AD, or Google Workspace), ask your administrator to configure SSO before inviting users.

Recommended First Steps

  1. Add a Framework — Go to the Frameworks section and select the frameworks relevant to your organization. Each framework automatically populates a list of controls and tests.
  2. Invite Your Team — Add team members and assign roles (Owner, Admin, or Member) to distribute compliance responsibilities.
  3. Connect Integrations — Connect tools like AWS, GitHub, and Google Workspace to automate evidence collection.
  4. Review Controls — Explore the controls associated with your framework and start implementing them by assigning owners and linking evidence.
  5. Configure Your Trust Center — Publish your compliance status for customers and partners with a single click.

Navigating the Platform

The side navigation bar groups the main sections:

  • Dashboard — Overview of your compliance score and pending items
  • Frameworks — Management of your active frameworks
  • Controls — Complete list of controls and their status
  • Evidence — Repository of collected evidence
  • Documents — Policies, procedures, and other internal documents
  • Risks — Organizational risk register and assessment
  • Integrations — Connections to external tools
  • Trust Center — Your public compliance page
