What is MongoDB Atlas?

MongoDB Atlas is a fully managed cloud database service. If your application stores data in Atlas, this integration gives Imara visibility into your database security configurations — a common requirement in SOC 2 and other compliance audits.

What Imara collects from MongoDB Atlas

• Organization and project members with their roles
• Database user configurations and access scopes
• Network access settings — IP allowlist and VPC peering configurations
• Encryption-at-rest status

Required permissions

Imara connects via a MongoDB Atlas API Key with the Organization Read Only role. Create the key in Atlas → Access Manager → API Keys. Only read access is required.

How to connect

1. In Atlas, go to Access Manager → API Keys and create a key with Organization Read Only role.
2. Add Imara's IP address to the API key access list when prompted (Imara will display the address during setup).
3. In Imara, go to Integrations and select MongoDB Atlas.
4. Enter your Public Key and Private Key, then click Connect.
